Great news for menswear fans who love elite outdoors gear sans the elite prices: Reese Cooper—wunderkind designer, outdoors gear wonk, noted pockets aficionado—just brought his talents to a Pacsun near you. As of this morning, his inaugural link-up with the West Coast retailer is officially live, and it’s jam-packed with enough trademark Cooperisms to keep you fitted through summer’s end.
RC Outdoor Supply preserves the signature details of Cooper’s namesake label—there’s no shortage of pockets here—but imbues them with a slightly more accessible bent. Take, for example, the line’s instant-cop cargo shorts, a late contender for Shorts of the Summer that demands immediate reassessment of the competition. (There’s no official deadline for submission, FYI, but vibes-wise we were getting close.)
Want to double-check our calculus? See for yourself. They’re available in two foolproof shades of almost-white, boast a total of six pockets to fill with good ol’ raisins and peanuts, and come equipped with a drawstring waist with a funky little clip for your keys, hat, or extra bungee cords. For anyone into sets, there’s even a matching jacket to complete the look—telltale hardware very much included.
The highlights don’t end there, either, because Reese Cooper and the Pacsun braintrust didn’t stop at shorts. They also dreamed up taped-seam shell jackets in a delightfully bonkers camouflage pattern; packable anoraks with a trio of pockets across the chest; mil-spec-adjacent popovers; trompe-tastic double-layer running shorts; moto-tinged base layers; and, of course, a pitch-perfect pair of cargo pants with more pockets than a pool hall.
Head over to the Pacsun site to browse the collection in its entirety, or keep scrolling to peep a few of our picks below. If you see something you like, we suggest snagging it fast: all this gear is built for the outdoors, and it won’t stay put long.
