Wired or Bluetooth: Knowing if your computer’s speakers are going to be primarily wired in or connected via Bluetooth is one place to start. Not all PC speakers can connect wirelessly. For most setups this isn’t a problem, and the latency-free wired-in route is typically preferred. Still, it’s nice to have options.
To Woof or not to Woof: A subwoofer makes a big difference. The bass it can add to your mix can be mind-blowing. It can also shake the shit out of your apartment floor—you know, the one that is your downstairs neighbor’s ceiling. Yeah… every choice is situational.
Aesthetics: How does a speaker sound, yes, but how does a speaker look? What’s its essence? This is important because your home office (or PC gaming hovel) should be a place you enjoy being. Tech that’s easy on the eyes only make that easier.
